We?re Breaking Down the Details of the New Tiago Lemos Skate Shoe

You’ve been hearing lots of hype around the new Tiago Lemos signature shoe that we just dropped, and for good reason. This shoe is a game-changer, and just like Tiago’s skating style – a powerhouse. Detail is everything when it comes to creating skate shoes that perform at a professional level, and the DC Shoes design team left no detail on the drawing board when it came to putting this new Tiago skate shoe into production. We’re here to give you some insider information on what makes this shoe that Global Skate Product Manager, Michael Kubota calls “a simple, yet unique approach to A-symmetrical design.”

To accommodate Tiago’s powerful skating style, this skate shoe was built for impact and durability. The design of the upper might appear like it’s all for show, but there is a method to our madness. The clean toe lowers the chances of stich blowouts, and the super suede upper and our SUPER STITCH™ high tensile thread allow for increased durability so you can get a longer life out of your shoe. Hidden lace loops provide a quick backup plan so you’re not left high and dry if you blow out your laces.

As with all of our skate shoe designs, we like to fuse function with style, and the tongue label on the Tiago shoe is a great example of how we incorporate our athletes’ style in the design process of our product. The label is a play on a label you might find on a jersey, because Tiago is such a fan of wearing jerseys, and the “TL19” represents his initials plus the area code from his hometown in Brazil.
