BIO
Lou Barberio is an illustrator and designer based out of the Greater Cleveland area. As part of the Deluxe Distribution art room and the artist behind Grimple Stix, he creates graphics for brands including Antihero Skateboards, Real Skateboards, Krooked Skateboards, Spitfire Wheels, Venture Trucks, and Thunder Trucks.

INSPIRATION
Contrasting the stark appearance of the chickens against the clean white of the shoe, this piece was created to bring awareness for the need to drastically change the way animal agriculture is conducted. Factory farming practices have a wide range of adverse effects. Along with the inhumane treatment of animals, the negative impacts of factory farming seep into public health. These large operations spread antibiotic resistant bacteria and cause a considerable amount of air and water pollution, while pushing out small independent farms.
